WFSJ will announce the 7 winners of trips to Norway during the AAAS meeting, in Vancouver
Join Vesa Niinikangas, President of the World Federation of Science Journalists, and Nils Christian Stenseth, the President of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, Saturday 18 February 2012 at 4:30 p.m. for a Wine-and-Cheese Reception in the Reporters‘ Coffee Lounge area outside the Technology Workroom (Room 301) in the Vancouver Convention Centre.
WFSJ will announce the names of the winners of seven scholarships to attend the 2012 Kavli Prizes Ceremony, in Oslo, next September. Nils Christian Stenseth, President of the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, will give brief remarks on the science they can expect to see in Norway.

Vesa Niinikangas, President of the World Federation of Science Journalists, will also – most probably – introduce the new director of the World Federation and will – most certainly – give some information on the upcoming World Conference of Science Journalists in Helsinki, Finland, in June 2013.
Meet the organizers of the 2013 World Conference of Science Journalists in Helsinki
On Sunday 19 February 2012, from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. the organizers of the upcoming World Conference of Science Journalists and the World Federation of Science Journalists will host a Wine-and-cheese Reception and Social Hour looking ahead to the 8th World Conference of Science Journalists in Helsinki, Finland, 24-28 June, 2013.
This will be a unique opportunity to meet the Board members and the Executive of the WFSJ as well as the team organizing the Conference.
The reception will be held in the Reporters‘ Coffee Lounge area outside the Technology Workroom (Room 301) in the Vancouver Convention Centre.
These receptions are held within the context of the Annual Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) which is being held in Vancouver, Canada, 16 – 19 February 2012. |
